Biography

Alex Odnoralov is an artist based in Denver, Colorado. He majored in industrial design but has since pursued his passion in art. In his current work, he captures the beauty of the natural world through the medium of oil paint. His focus is primarily on Western landscapes and themes. While he works within a representational style, he aims to keep the brushwork loose and intuitive, allowing the painting to retain a sense of movement and life. He is deeply inspired by nature and is driven by his faith to create.

Artist Statement

My work is inspired by a deep appreciation for nature, the landscapes of the American West, and the stories that have shaped its history. Growing up in the west shaped my appreciation for the beauty of our landscapes and western life. I draw from my travels and experiences outdoors, and I strive to create paintings that invite viewers to slow down and reflect. Capturing the authenticity of what the eye sees like the subtle shifts in colors, tones, and also the stories found within Western landscapes and figures is important to me. At the same time, I allow room for creative exaggeration and interpretation. It is through that balance between observation and imagination that I strive to create work with that dreamy, romantic quality.
